Samantha Cain

Counsellor

WELCOME

I’m Sam, an integrative counsellor with nearly a decade of experience working in addiction treatment and recovery. My work is grounded in a deep respect for the complexity of human behaviour and the ways we learn to cope, survive, and adapt. I approach therapy through a biopsychosocial lens, recognising that our struggles are shaped not only by individual experiences, but also by relationships, systems, and the broader contexts we live within. I offer a steady, compassionate space where we can explore these layers together and begin to untangle what no longer serves you.

Areas I Specialise In

  • Addiction and recovery
  • Anxiety and emotional dysregulation
  • Grief and loss
  • Relationship challenges
  • Women’s life transitions
  • Trauma-informed support

Who I Work Best With

I work with individuals seeking relational, attachment-informed therapy grounded in authenticity and human connection. I particularly support those navigating the complexity of addiction, identity shifts, and the emotional impact of life transitions.

My Clinical Philosophy

My approach is heart-centred, compassionate, and client-led. I integrate attachment theory, somatic awareness, trauma-informed care, and parts work, believing that healing happens in safe, attuned relationships where all parts of you are welcome.

Professional Background

I have worked in addiction treatment across various roles for nearly 10 years and bring professional and personal experience as a counsellor, mother and deeply curious human.
