We can often feel that we should contain, manage o

We can often feel that we should contain, manage or hold back our emotions. For many of us we learnt that this was safe. We can feel like we burden others when we express ourselves or that we are too much to handle. What we lose in that moment though, is the opportunity to courageously share our own experience. By sharing and being open with out emotions, we create the space for others to be safe and free to share.

One of the greatest gifts of self love is to allow our feelings to be present and accepted.

Last weekend The Bigger Picture Clinic team got to

Last weekend The Bigger Picture Clinic team got together for a night of ceramiques. Most of us had never done ceramiques before making it a new experience and adventure for the team.

It was a night of laughs, curiosity, creativity, connection and compassion (some of us had questionable creations at times 😂).

Thank you to Tig for guiding us and holding the space for us to learn, create and connect. As therapists we can sometimes forget about the importance of looking after ourselves and doing the things that fill up our emotional cups.

The Bigger Picture Clinic recognizes the importance of sole traders connecting to one another - private practice can be a lonely place at times for some therapists. At TBPC we’ve committed to these regular events and team days. It’s how we embed a culture of collective support and community of clinicians and practitioners. Experience shows us that we are better, more engaged and more effective in our work when we feel part of a nurturing peer community of practice.

We can’t wait for our next adventure later this year!

Today is R U OK? Day.

It is important to consistently check in with ourselves and others and ask ourselves R U OK? It’s important that we have days like today, they remind us all to check in with friends, loved ones and ourselves. It’s easy step back into our everyday busy lives and forget until the next R U OK? Day rolls around.

But here’s the bit - we don’t need a special day to check in on people. Connection is the key and we need to keep these conversations flowing and normalize having deep conversations with the people in our lives about how we and they are really feeling.

We never truly know what someone else is going through, so kindness is more important than ever…. today, tomorrow and always.

Last week, The Bigger Picture Clinic was incredibly proud to be nominated by our clients and visitors in the Community Nomination – Business of the Year category at the 2024 Glen Eira Business Excellence Awards.

Starting The Bigger Picture Clinic in 2023 I wanted to establish a warm, inviting, and safe therapeutic space for my local community. As an added bonus, we opened in a building that has been connected to my family for more than 40 years.

The Bigger Picture Clinic has grown from my dream into a thriving and innovative holistic wellbeing practice with more than 14 clinicians offering psychotherapy, psychology, EMDR, Shiatsu, spinal energetics, hypnotherapy, individual, family, relationship and small group therapy.

Small business is BIG work! But the reward is that I get to work, live and play in a community that has shaped me and work with likeminded and passionate peers and colleagues. The Bigger Picture Clinic’s model supports the development and growth of other small businesses by providing start-up support to independent clinicians as they start their own journeys.

I am honoured to have been nominated and grateful to Glen Eira City Council for the engagement and opportunities they provide to support a thriving local small business community.
